 ilva was born in the coastal city of Santos\,\nBrazil. Influenced at an 
 early age by her artistic family\, namely her\ngrandmother\, a portrait 
 artist\, and her mother\, a watercolourist\, daSilva\nexperimented with 
 a variety of mediums before discovering her passion for\nabstract painti
 ng. As an emerging artist\, daSilva is quickly gaining momentum\nin Calg
 ary&rsquo\;s local art scene. In 2009\, her work was shown in nineteen d
 ifferent\nvenues across the city\, including the distinguished Cultural 
 Intersection\nExhibition in the City of Calgary Municipal Building and E
 PCOR Centre and\nCalgary&rsquo\;s own Art Central.\nOpening Reception Fi
