Shisomiso presents New Work by Samantha daSilva
Samantha daSilva was born in the coastal city of Santos, Brazil. Influenced at an early age by her artistic family, namely her grandmother, a portrait artist, and her mother, a watercolourist, daSilva experimented with a variety of mediums before discovering her passion for abstract painting. As an emerging artist, daSilva is quickly gaining momentum in Calgary’s local art scene. In 2009, her work was shown in nineteen different venues across the city, including the distinguished Cultural Intersection Exhibition in the City of Calgary Municipal Building and EPCOR Centre and Calgary’s own Art Central.
