The Zero Hour presented by M:ST: An interactive performance by artists Stephanie Rothenberg and Suzanne Thorpe (Brooklyn). The Zero Hour is a participatory radio performance that transforms the city streets into a laboratory for experiments in subliminal communication. Using the Art Central atrium as a control base station, the artists transmit a live broadcast to the audience through special "state-of-the-art" mobile headgear: tinfoil hats outfitted with radio receivers and wireless microphones. These DIY devices allow the audience to eavesdrop on sounds culled from historic and contemporary airtime propaganda, instructional training tapes, music, as well as their own voices.
