Wearable Art performance
The Albetra College of Art + Design's (ACAD) Wearable Art class / November 3 / Artists are in attendance / Starts at 5pm to 9pm / Performance at 8pm
The Albetra College of Art + Design's (ACAD) Wearable Art class and Art Central partner to celebrate Art Centrals' Birthday!
Atelier: Atelier is the French word for "workshop", and in English is used principally for the workshop of an artist in the fine or decorative
arts. From the refined elegance and romance of the 18th century to the post-apocalyptic sublime the ACAD artists explore conceptual themes
through a wearable art practice. Atelier: the exhibition in motion will take place at Art Central for it’s 7th birthday party. This performance has become a Calgary tradition. Hosting this event nurtures the future of Wearable Art culture in Calgary.
Demonstrating skills from various disciplines the artists display a cohesive creative vision. From fur to steel and lace to leather they sew, forge, and crochet objects from their hearts and from their heads.

Unlike New York city, Paris, or London; Calgary is not always a city which comes to mind in considering the most highly sought-after place to live as an artist. The students at Studio C beg to differ. Illuminating their respective muses and sources of inspiration found within the city - from its unique weather, to its sports teams, to its diverse residents - these artists know that Calgary truly is an inspiring place to create.
